So, he reads Getting Things Done, and likes it. ![]() He might have been into it a bit before that. After Artie tried to kill himself, Howard became obsessed with books about organization. He gets into them, becomes enthusiastic, and really focuses on them. Howard also obsesses on things: photography, chess, grilling, etc. So there was always this mix of Howard using the craziness to entertain the audience, and of him being sincerely angry and wanting to have a better behaved staff. He complained many times about his staff not being more professional, saying that people like Letterman would never put up with their behavior. And throughout his career he was able to make great radio out of bad behavior and the antics of his staff, but sometimes the people who worked for him really pissed him off. Howard is a control freak, but he loves out-of-control people. ![]()
